With our latest, cutting-edge technology, we can truly say that our instruments are the finest. Availabilities include note-by-note sampling of each individual organ pipe within each rank. Other organ companies sample (record) some ranks together. In contrast, JOHANNUS records organ Mixtures individually instead of as a group. "Real Time Sampling" achieves ultimate results – Senses perceive properly scaled pipes with appropriate tonal and harmonic textures throughout each rank and stop. Competitive products "process" their samples and lose the correct harmonic details of each individual pipe, ignoring the integrity and idiosyncrasies that create the character of every organ – large and small! JOHANNUS technology provides more pitch sources. This is often overlooked by other organ manufacturers as they share pitch sources. In a real pipe organ each pipe is a separate pitch and harmonic source of sound and tone. JOHANNUS duplicates this capability with individual digital generators - Playing large chords of “full organ” recreates the same independent pitches and harmonics as a pipe organ of the same resources! With 24 bit sampling (plus 8 expression bits), and minimum sampling rate of 48kHz, our organs replicate authenticity AND massive ensemble!

JOHANNUS knows that, just like a pipe organ, sound must originate from many locations in order to flow into the room. While other digital organs use only a few amplifiers and speakers, JOHANNUS provides more separation through more channels than most. (Our custom models often use as many as a hundred or more amplifiers and several hundred speakers, for total authenticity.) Even our standard models often utilize twice as many amplifiers and speakers as similar competitive brands.

JOHANNUS uses more “DAC’s” (Digital-to-Analog Converters) - up to 96 DACS in our standard models! A “DAC” is the vital medium that converts digital sample data (series of 1’s and 0’s: incomprehensible as sound) into analog (sound we comprehend). Digital information cannot be heard - it is necessary to change it back (convert) into a waveform signal, the same waveform and harmonic wave patterns generated by the pipe that was originally sampled (recorded). In order to properly convert the original data back to analog audio and keep it accurate, ample paths must be provided for such conversions. JOHANNUS provides up to four times as many DACS as most similar models from some competitive brands. More DACS equate to tonal integrity without distortion. Total accuracy! No “fuzzy and fuzzier” sounds compete as more voices are added or additional notes are played!

With a laptop computer and JOHANNUS Intonation Software, we prove our technological superiority. Ask your dealer to demonstrate the note-by-note and stop-by-stop voicing. Other organ companies sample their own pipes, or perhaps sample only from certain organ makes. JOHANNUS has sampled more total ranks representing a vast spectrum of tonal concepts. And we provide you with two totally different tonal concepts in our standard Opus, Sweelinck and Rembrandt organ series. Two organs in one console!
